Frequently Asked Questions

At Pearl Water, we’re proud to offer 100%, artesian mineral water that’s as rich in history as it is in minerals. Below are some of the most frequently asked questions about Pearl Water, where it comes from, and what makes it so special.

What is artesian water?

Artesian water comes from a unique type of underground aquifer. Unlike other water sources, an artesian aquifer is sandwiched between non-porous layers of rock, which creates natural pressure. When a well taps into this aquifer, the water rises to the surface through pressure. Pearl Water is drawn from an aquifer, deep beneath the Pearl Brewery in San Antonio.

Where is Pearl Water sourced?

Pearl Water is sourced from a single artesian well located in front of Stable Hall, right in the heart of Pearl in San Antonio, Texas. This well taps into a natural aquifer that has been supplying water to this region for centuries. The water filters through layers of limestone, picking up minerals and electrolytes that give it its pure, smooth taste.

What makes Pearl Water taste different from other bottled water?

The taste of Pearl Water comes from its journey through natural limestone. As it flows through these underground rock layers, it absorbs minerals and electrolytes, giving it a distinctive, refreshing flavor that reflects the land from which it springs. We layer on a filtering process that preserves the minerals and ensures Pearl Water is free of contaminants, delivering a pure, delicious experience with every sip.

Is Pearl Water environmentally friendly?

Yes! Pearl Water is committed to sustainability. We use less than 1% of the water from our artesian well, ensuring that this precious resource is protected for future generations. Additionally, our water is bottled in environmentally friendly aluminum bottles, which are 100% recyclable and help reduce plastic waste.

What’s the history behind Pearl Water?

Pearl Water is part of the rich legacy of the Pearl Brewery in San Antonio. For generations, the flowing springs beneath this site have drawn together makers, creators, and doers, forming a community rooted in hard work and collaboration. The same water that sustained this community for centuries is now available to you, bringing with it a sense of history and connection to the land.

What’s the connection between Pearl Water and the 1100 Springs?

The “1100 Springs” is a nod to the land that Pearl Water comes from—a blend of history, tradition, and creativity. It’s more than just a phrase; it represents the timeless nature of the water that flows beneath the Pearl Brewery. Like the generations who’ve gathered here before us, Pearl Water is part of a larger story, one that continues to inspire.

Why is Pearl Water important to the community?

Pearl Water is more than just water—it’s a symbol of the community that has been built around the Pearl Brewery and the current community that is Pearl.
